# Arboriculture

Arboriculture is the care of individual trees, from selection and planting through mature tree care and risk assessment, and the International Society of Arboriculture publishes tree care guidance for the public.

The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) runs TreesAreGood.org for the public. The site says ISA brochures offer guidance for management throughout the life of a tree, from tree selection and planting to mature tree care and risk assessment.

People who practice arboriculture are called [arborists](https://cincystump.multisites.ai/glossary/arborist). ISA says certified arborists are more likely to be up to date on the latest techniques in arboriculture because they must continue their education.
