Amur honeysuckle

Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii) is one of the bush honeysuckles, and Ohio lists it as an invasive plant under Ohio Administrative Code rule 901:5-30-01.

Ohio's director of agriculture declared a list of plants invasive in Ohio Administrative Code rule 901:5-30-01. Item 28 on that list is Lonicera maackii, Amur honeysuckle. Ohio State University groups Amur, Morrow and Tartarian honeysuckle together as bush honeysuckle, and says these shrubs are aggressive invaders.

The rule's purpose is to protect native plant species and thwart the growth of invasive plant species. This page does not say what the listing means for a private yard. See honeysuckle for the general description and the guide on whether honeysuckle is illegal in Ohio for the rule itself.
