Arboriculture
Tree removal
Tree removal means cutting a tree down, which usually leaves a stump. ISA says removing trees, especially large ones, can be dangerous work and can be expensive.
The International Society of Arboriculture says pruning or removing trees, especially large trees, can be dangerous work. Its TreesAreGood.org site adds that tree removal can be expensive. It suggests considering an arborist when a tree is dead or dying, an unacceptable risk, causing an obstruction or crowding other trees.
ISA also says removing or pruning storm-damaged trees can be dangerous. A professional arborist can do the job safely while reducing further risk of damage to people and property. A felled tree leaves a stump. Removing the stump is its own job, covered under stump removal. See the guide on stump grinding versus stump removal.
